Donsol as one of the tourist destination in the Philippines was featured as “The Best Animal Encounter” by Times Magazine in terms of Whaleshark interaction.
In 2006 we started to learned what tourism could bring to our town – Donsol. We started to promote what we have pride as “Whalesharks Capital in the Philippines” aside from that scuba diving in Ticao becomes one of the best side trip for divers to see the Manta rays and other pelagic, it gives us more opportunities to sell new products . Tourism uplifts the town’s / locals means of living. Donsol become the class A Municipality from Class D because of these gentle giants of the sea recognize in the world as one of endangered species.
In February 20, 2008 we become a legitimate Travel & Tour Operator in Donsol. Whaleshark Adventure & Tours (WAT) is a DOT (Department of Tourism) accredited located at Vitton Beach Resort, Dancalan, Donsol, Sorsogon, Philippines just across the Visitor Center, the first stop over for registration, boat arrangement and activity orientation.
The company serves as a Sales & Marketing arm for our resorts and Bicol Dive Center in Donsol. Likewise the company gives a quality service to our guests from the time the company was established, it has earn the impression of having the professionalism of our staff in handling visitors and tourist.
We continue to expand our services, creates new products for Donsol, to our neighboring towns, Sorsogon, Albay and all over Bicol region with the help of the Locals and NGO’s. TRAVELING TO DONSOL
DONSOL is located in the Province of Sorsogon, in the Bicol Region, at the southern tip of Luzon Island, Philippines. The towns population is estimated at 47,000 (2003 census) and is traditionally engaged in fishing and agricultural acitivity. From the capital of the Philippines, Manila, Donsol is approximately 500 kilometers away and can be accessed by air or comfortable land transfer. There are many local airlines like Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines have daily flights to Legazpi, the center of the Bicol region.
It is also possible to take a bus or coach from Manila to Legaspi city. This mode is more economical, but the travel time is longer.
By Plane

By Bus / Coach
- Bus transfer from Metro Manila to Legazpi City (approximately 10 hours)
